T-ERP began in 2024 in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. After finishing a finance degree at the University of Pretoria, our Founder & Managing Director moved back to the town they grew up in, a place where coal trucks, tippers and mining machines are part of the everyday scenery. You pass them on every road, and after a while you start to wonder what it really takes to keep them all moving.
The answer came over a catch-up with an old school friend who had just started as a logistics controller. He was honest about how tough the job was. Every supplier he worked with ran on spreadsheets, there was no real system behind any of it, and a big part of his day went into chasing information that should have been in one place.
We wanted to know whether that was the exception or the rule, so we started asking friends, and friends of friends, who owned or worked in transport businesses. It was very nearly the rule. Trips, fuel, maintenance, invoices and driver records were spread across Excel files, WhatsApp groups and paper. On one visit to an operator running more than 120 trucks out of eMalahleni, the paperwork for their RTMS audit covered an entire boardroom table. These were capable, hard-working people. They simply did not have tools that matched the size of the job.
Coming from finance, we could see why. Packages like Sage and Xero look after the books well, but they were never meant to plan loads or run a workshop. SAP and Oracle can be shaped into almost anything, but at a price most small and medium operators cannot justify. A lot of good businesses were stuck in the middle, too big for spreadsheets and too small for an enterprise system.
So we set out to build something for them. We put together a development team, worked with advisers who knew transport and mining from the inside, and got the first version running with real operators. When mining contractors came on board, they showed us how the same story played out on their side. One was looking after more than 250 machines and vehicles with job cards, spreadsheets and a lot of people's memory. Mining and transport turned out to be two links in the same chain, held back by the same thing: nowhere for operations, maintenance, compliance and finance to come together. That is the gap T-ERP was built to close.
How we work with you
Every operation is different, so we do not hand over a standard package and wish you luck. We start by learning how your business runs today, your routes and rates, how approvals happen and what your auditors ask for, and then we set T-ERP up around that. Your whole operation sits in one system, from the first load of the month to the last payslip, with the data from the tracking providers you already use flowing straight in. After go-live we stay close and keep refining things with you.
Why we do not name our clients
The businesses we work with trust us with their operational and financial data, and every one of them is covered by a non-disclosure agreement. We take that seriously, which is why you will not see client names or logos on this site. What we would love to do instead is show you the system working on an operation like yours.
If your business still runs on spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups, we would genuinely like to hear about it.
